I live in Brixton and have a studio in Streatham Hill. After studying Social Anthropology at Goldsmiths’ I have been an artist for over 20 years. I am currently returning to my practise having taken time off to concentrate on my career as a scenic artist When we look at clouds, the distressed paintwork of a weathered door or any number of random sights our imagination can play tricks on us so that we see shapes, images and movement in the abstract patterns that are not really there.

In my work, I investigate the ways in which materials can be used to evoke these illusions. In this series of paintings, I have manipulated acrylic paint on glass, then turned the glass so that the image is seen through it. I hope that the gap between the painstaking technique and the chaotic nature of the physical forces involved creates an imaginative space the viewer can explore.’
